All about the Celosia

When you see the Celosia for the first time, you blink your eyes in surprise. It is therefore a striking appearance. They look a bit like a plume hane comb; they are not called that in Dutch for nothing.

The name Celosia comes from Greek and is derived from the word 'burning'. This is a reference to the shape of the flower, which looks a bit like a flame.

The cultivation of Celosias starts with young plants, which are grown from seed. The first plantlets go into the ground at the end of January. After about 10 weeks, the colourful flowers can be harvested. You can incorporate the flowers into a cool bouquet and dry them afterwards.
